Nikki Stevens – Director / Senior Physiotherapist

Nikki graduated from the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy in 2003. She has also completed a Masters in Clinical Health Practice (Physiotherapy) with Distinction, and a Post-graduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture.

Nikki has worked in private practice physiotherapy since 2003 and enjoys treating a wide range of conditions. She has a special interest in sports physiotherapy, and was the full-time physiotherapist for the Leicestershire County Cricket team in England for two years. Nikki has also had involvement with elite football and hockey teams, and enjoys the challenges of getting clients back to their chosen sport as quickly as possible.

Nikki is also trained in cancer rehabilitation and treats women with any type of cancer. She also runs Osteoarthritis classes on a weekly basis and enjoys seeing the improvements made by her patients during these block courses.

Outside of work, Nikki enjoys running, waterskiing, going to the gym and being active with her 2 young daughters.

Michelle Hermanta – Senior Physiotherapist

Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy in 2013. She has since completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Michelle has predominantly worked in private practice clinics helping with a variety of musculoskeletal injuries (strain and sprains and work-related postural conditions). She enjoys a hands-on approach to managing pain and combining this with exercise therapy (clinical Pilates and resistance/ functional training) to get her patients back to full functional independence. She has a particular interest in using Pilates principles with a reformer apparatus to help with her patients rehabilitation and body awareness to empower them to have better control and build resilience to prevent future injuries. 

Outside of work, she enjoys keeping fit and healthy by playing badminton once a week and strength training/ skipping cardio workouts at her home gym and in the community. This helps her relax and de-stress, allowing her to be able to keep up with her son and 4-year-old Golden retriever cross Border Collie, George.

Joshua Kim – Senior Physiotherapist

Joshua completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (University of Otago, 2006) and Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (AUT, 2011). He completed his Masters degree in Health Science in 2013 and his study on the effective frequency of ongoing hamstring stretching was published in the New Zealand Journal of Physiotherapy. 

Joshua casually works in a public hospital as an advanced clinician physiotherapist at Orthopaedic Outpatient Spinal Clinic, Te Whatu Ora Waitemata (formerly known as Waitemata District Health Board- North Shore Hospital).

Joshua has a particular interest in treating chronic and persistent musculoskeletal conditions e.g. chronic lower back, neck, shoulder and knee pain, headache and TMJ disorders.

Joshua has a passion for teaching physiotherapy. For the past 10 years, he has regularly run private courses and been invited as a guest lecturer by a number of universities, especially in his native country Korea. He also teaches in NZ for Certificate of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy run by the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapy Association. 

When he is not at work, Joshua has his hands full keeping up with his wife and his children Jonathan and Carah, as well as contributing greatly to his church.

Hannah Dawson – Senior Physiotherapist

Hannah graduated in 2009 from the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy. Since then she has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, a Post Graduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture, and a dry needling qualification.

Hannah has a particular interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Hannah has worked with a number of elite athletes both in a clinical setting and touring internationally. She has also worked within the Football Ferns Development Program, Auckland Rugby representative teams and Auckland City men’s football team.

Hannah has played both football and hockey competitively and enjoys running and spending time with her young family.

Asil

Asil Nasir – Senior Physiotherapist

Asil graduated in 2009 from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy. She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal physio and has worked with various sports teams including rugby union, rugby league, NZ tag and football. Asil has completed a dry needling course, and also has experience in aged care physio as well as working as a clinical educator in Australia.

Asil loves spending her down time with her young family, friends, mentoring young women, working with at risk youth and young adults in her community and church.

Sue Gardner – Registered Remedial Massage Therapist

Sue is a qualified therapist of Remedial Massage, and studied at the NZ College of Massage (Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage – Level 5), and the NZ College of Chinese Medicine (Diploma in Remedial Massage – Level 6).

Sue is passionate about helping clients achieve a holistic approach to health and wellbeing to improve quality of life. Having previously worked in a corporate environment for 25 years, she has great awareness of the effects of modern life and the need to incorporate treatment and relaxation into treatment plans.

Sue can provide therapy for relief from aches and pains, and relaxation to reduce stress, using remedial massage to decrease tension and improve range of motion as well as deep tissue, myofascial release and relaxation techniques.

We have moved! Our new location is still in central Takapuna, at 2 Burns Ave, Takapuna. We have onsite car parking available, and there is also street parking nearby. Please be aware that we are located on the 1st floor of the building. Please let us know if you need assistance getting up the stairs. We look forward to welcoming you into our new space!
